My concern of these pups not getting enough milk has been dismissed. My human mommy weighed the pups this morning and they are growing! Here is a pic of the boy getting weighed. Then one of sneaky Uncle Chubs sneaking a sniff of Number Four!

Day One - Labor and Birth Pics

Tuesday March 24, 2009 - Day 63 and DUE DATE!

After a long labor, I finally delivered all four pups and placentas. Here's what we have:
First - born at 2:56am - tiny male - dark with white on chest.
Second - born at 3:10am - tiny female - multicolored
Third - born at 3:27am - large female - looks black
Fourth - born at 4:22am - large female - multicolored

My human mom and her midwife friend, Hope, were there to help/watch. Hope was there via HeidiCam. I am tired but will post pics and videos and weights later in the morning.

Monday March 23, 2009 - Day 62

My temp at 8 this morning - 98.7. My temp at 10:30 this morning - 98.1. My temp at 3:00 this afternoon - 97.8. My temp seems to be staying below 99 - which is good. Come on labor!!!

March 22, 2009 - Day 61

I have been a lazy bum today! My belly practically drags on the ground when I walk. Birth can't come too soon for me now. Bring on the labor!!!

As I have been lazy and bored, I think you might enjoy some pics of Hank and me when we were babies. We are perhaps the cutest pups out there. Look how small Hank and I were.

I hope to be bringing some good news in the next day or so.

Saturday March 21, 2009 - Day 60

Well, I never thought I would see Day 60 and still be preggers! First litter delivered on Day 59. My human good friend Colleen is predicting a Sunday early afternoon delivery. Please be right, Colleen!!!

My temp this morning was 99.2. Argh! The temp really needs to get to 98 and then we are a go in 12 to 24 hours.

Anyway, the Heidi Cam is up and running, my birth supplies are almost together and I have been ready for days!

Friday March 20, 2009 - Day 59

Today, my temperature was 99.4 - same as yesterday. This means it isn't likely the pups will make their appearance today. So, I was able to hang out with my human mommy today!!! We went to pick up my human sister, Rebecca. She is flying soomewhere to visit her friend. After we dropped her off at the airport, we stopped by to visit Dr. Camie. She took a special picture of my belly and confirmed that there are 'only' four pups inside of me! Yay! The thought of five made my skin crawl or was that the pups moving inside of me???

We came home and I went immediately to favorite spot - under mommy's shirt.

Wednesday March 18 - Day 57

Here are a couple of pics of me taken at 9:30pm. The black (brindle) pug next to me is Greta. She is my friend and my human brother Mike's dog. I guess that makes her my niece.

I am having a real hard time getting around today. I can only hope that my labor will be sooner rather than later. The pups are moving like crazy!!!

I am a little worried though. I will post a pic of the xray with some markings. Let me know what you think. Four or Five??? I guess time will tell for sure.

Tuesday March 17, 2009 - Day 56

This is the wonderful Dr. Galipalli - a.k.a. Dr. G. I saw him today and he let me know that there are four puppies in my belly! I still think there 50 or 16 or 8! I am huge! My human mommy said she will take a pic of me and post it later. Dr. G has even noticed how big I am!

We also got the pics of the pups radiographs. They have to be touched up but will be posted tonight.

I need to start getting my whelping box ready. It's set up but not quite ready for birthin'.

Also, if you haven't already done so, download Yahoo Messenger and add me to your friends list. My Yahoo screen name is babes4heidi. You can view my webcam and watch my birth or me with the new ones, etc. Right now my human mommy is using it to see what all the other dogs do when she isn't home. I tried to tell her their business but she wanted to see for herself!

Wednesday March 11, 2009 - Day 50

Those pups are really moving a lot! My human mommy said that she felt them last night moving so much. It's really nice to feel them moving in there but I can imagine about a week or two from now I may not have the same sentiment.

For those of you who are interested, the official HEIDI CAM is up and running. I don't go near the box yet but you can get set up and ready to view the birth when it happens. You will need Yahoo Messenger and a Yahoo screen name. My screen name is Babes4Heidi. My human mommy will add you when she can but if she doesn't recognize your screen name she may ask who you are. Don't get upset at her. She just doesn't want too many unnecessary folk watching my business, if you know what I mean. During my last birth, there were 5 folks online with a total of 9 watching online!!!

Today my human mommy took me to see Dr. G. (For those of you who haven't read my entire blog, Dr. G is the amazing vet at Banfield Town Center.) He remembered me!!! He showed us the card and picture we gave him last August. It was hanging on the door of the room we were in! He must really like me!

He checked my hemoglobin and it was a little low. He recommended puppy food and some vitamins. Btw, the vitamins are sort of yuck :-P The puppy food is yum! Anyway, no worms and that's good. He did an x-ray but said it didn't show the pups very good. Then he took us (human mommy and human sister, Rebecca) to look at the pictures. When we got in the room, he said he could see much better. Not great but better than the other room he was in with a lot of light. They counted 3 pups but he thinks there must be more as my uterus is huge already.

I was hoping to avoid this topic but I realize that many of you like the details! Started this pregnancy off at a svelte 6 pounds even - same as last time. When I delivered the first batch last August, I got up to 7 pounds 10 ounces. I weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces today and still have about two weeks left. I AM F-A-T.

March 5, 2009 - Day 44

Here I am on day 44 and I am huge! I look at the pics of me on day 44 last time and I am so large. I guess the extra pup makes that big of a difference.

I am going to get my weight tomorrow. I am almost afraid to get on that scale. But it's good to make sure I am gaining enough weight. I am gaining enough weight, right?
